Somehow I feel the human race is far too impatient to actually allow global warming to do us all in. It's a relatively slow process. Past idiocy makes nuclear weapons seem like the best bet...all you need is one person pressing the wrong button, or someone saying the wrong thing, and viola, mayhem and destruction.
